Welcome
Accomplishments
“Definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement.”
Clement Stone
“Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be dismayed.
Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do His will, and I
know that I will triumph.” Isaiah 50:7 (NLT)
God has certainly been good to our MBC family this past year. With
grateful hearts let’s celebrate God’s blessings upon us as we remember
a few of the highlights. For a much more complete accounting of our
MBC ministries, please read the excellent reports of our ministry leaders
that follow.
Our ministries of outreach in particular have grown exponentially. They
started in full force with the amazing community event of ‘Andre Kole’ in
February. Dr. Leighton, who is a personal friend with Andre Kole, headed
this very successful community outreach. More than a dozen local
churches cooperated in this outreach as well as many community
merchants. God was in this outreach and approximately 300 souls were
added to the Kingdom of Christ.
In the spring our small groups, headed by Dave Lawrence, led our MBC
family in a 40 Days of Community campaign which fostered excellent
creativity in our outreach strategies. God blessed this endeavor also
and a renewed sensitivity to the needs of our community became evident
within our MBC family. Through a ministry centered in Bakersfield called
‘Jesus Shack’ and our own Deacon’s ministry, we were privileged to
distribute well over 100 boxes of food in November to families in need
here in Tehachapi.
About 100 of you made a commitment to be a ‘Prayer Warrior’ earlier this
year. God’s blessings have been on this ministry and upon Andy and
Melodie Ohmit who are leading this ministry. Prayer is the key that has
unlocked the doors of outreach and ministry for our church family. Watch
and listen for opportunities to join our ‘Prayer Warrior’ team.
This fall we celebrated our 35th Anniversary as a church family and God
was certainly in this as well. We have strategically put the word GO back
in the word GOSPEL. We reconnected the CO to the word MISSION to
help us understand and anew the Great Commission. This MISSION must
be a CO-operative effort. First, we cooperate with God to accomplish His
mission in our world. Second, we cooperate with each other and with
other Christians around the world to carry out God’s Great CO-mission.
Your response to God’s call upon you has been amazing.
Our Trustees led our MBC family by operating with faith in the purchase
and installation of the four modulars you see between the new ‘Worship
Center’ and the ‘Children’s Ministries Center.’ Don Jones served as our
General Contractor and also did a lion’s share of the work. However
many of you have donated your time, energy, and talents for this great
project also. Our Youth have also worked to prepare our modulars for
full operation. We are so grateful to all of you who have made this
possible because of the additional ministry options with this additional
3,840 sq. ft. of usable space.
Solomon advised us that:
“If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Be
sure to stay busy and plant a variety of crops, for you never know which
will grow — perhaps they all will.” Ecclesiastes 11:4, 6 (NLT)
Solomon also warns that:
If we wait until we understand God’s ways, we will never get started!
“God made everything, and you can no more understand what He does
than you understand how new life begins in the womb of a pregnant
woman. (6) Do your planting in the morning and in the evening, too. You
never know whether it will all grow well or whether one planting will do
better than the other.” Ecclesiastes 11:5-6 (TEV) (As a side note, verse
five also declares that life begins in the womb).
Solomon advocates that:
We should cherish every day of our life and, the good that we intend to
do some day, do it now!
“It is good to be alive to enjoy the light of day. (8) A person ought to
enjoy every day of his life. This is true no matter how long he lives. But
he should also remember this: You will be dead much longer than you
live. After you are dead, you accomplish nothing.” Ecclesiastes 11:7-8
(ICB)
“The most agreeable thing in life is worthy accomplishment.”

Thank you for your faithfulness to our God and our MBC family.
