Mountain Bible Church is a unique church family nestled in the Sierra Mountains in Tehachapi, California. We welcome you to come and learn more about God’s greatness, mercy and love through His son Jesus Christ.
Our Purpose Statement
The purpose of our church is summarized by three statements found in The Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37-39):
Love God. Love others. Love life.
Jesus taught us the greatest thing about ourselves is what we are for, not against. It is our Savior’s love that changed the world forever. We believe God is for you, not against you. We are FOR you. We believe that loving your life comes from knowing your worth. You are valuable, not because of your performance, but because you belong to God and are made in His image. We want to encourage all people to pursue a satisfying relationship with God, a loving relationship with others, and a joyous relationship with life.

From humble beginnings back in 1971, Mountain Bible Church began as a small Bible study group lead by our Founding Pastor, Dr. Marvin Slifer.
